New Year, Birthdays, and Beginnings

January meant my maternity leave had to come to an end and Corrine began spending more time with Grandma and Granddad and other caregivers. She has been enjoying her family and new friends as mom runs around, returning home to sneak in a midnight feeding and snuggle from a sleeping Corrine. We are so thankful that Grandma and Granddad are willing to take on so much time with her! Picture taking is up to them for the time being - so we'll see how often I get posts up.
Corrine is 6 months old now, over 18 lbs, and very social with other children. She is enjoying her increasing independence and ability to form opinions. For example, pears are very much on her "dislikes" list - we get vigerous head shaking (as if saying "no") and a firm grip halting a spoon that is normally welcomed. On the other hand, peaches get rave reviews and applesauce is okay (even good if following pears).
She's enjoying baths as a playtime since she kicks her feet and splashes the entire bathroom with what little water was in the little tub. She sits up well so her wiggle ability has increased enough that baths nearly necessitate 2 people. It's a fun event for us on our days off.
Daddy got to celebrate his first birthday as a dad yesterday - Corrine left him a present to find when he woke up. Happy birthday, Daddy!
